About Me

About Me

I am Jessica Rossen, a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist with more than 17 years of professional experience providing therapeutic, client‑centered care. I am certified in therapeutic massage and licensed in both Virginia and North Carolina. My foundation includes 750 hours of formal training and successful completion of the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage in 2009. As a proud member of the American Massage Therapy Association, I maintain professional insurance and stay current with industry standards through ongoing continuing education.

My career began in Virginia Beach, VA, where I worked as an independent contractor in both a chiropractic office and a spa setting. I later spent seven years as a full‑time Massage Therapist at Sumatra Salon and Spa, an AVEDA Concepts salon. During this time, I refined my skills in AVEDA techniques, acupressure, custom face, scalp, and hand/foot rituals, and ayurvedic concepts. My experience working with pregnant clients deepened after my own pregnancy in 2014, allowing me to approach prenatal care with greater understanding and empathy.

In 2015, I expanded my professional path by becoming a Massage Therapy Instructor at Centura College, where I had the privilege of teaching and mentoring future therapists. After taking a brief hiatus to focus on my family, I launched Hiatus Massage, offering mobile massage services designed to bring relaxation, relief, and convenience directly to my clients.

Over the years, I have developed a distinctive therapeutic style that blends Swedish massage, deep tissue work, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, hot/cold therapy, and energy work. Every session is customized to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. With a deep fascination for the human body and a naturally nurturing approach, I am committed to delivering exceptional care and building long‑term, supportive relationships with my clients.
